Another excellent video from Petrolicious - This man bought his little Honda at the age of 24 and has never let it go. 109,000 mile over 27 years works out to averaging a little over 4000 miles/year and it's nice to see a car loved like this.

Wish I still had mine. I had serious seller's remorse, but the buyer wouldn't sell it back to me. Oh to be 19 and stupid.

I drove a CRX in SCCA ITA for a couple years. Awesome little car, though once I switched to RWD I never looked back.

My brother had the exact same car like 12-13 years ago 87 crx SI had the same wheels and all the only difference is that he has a factory red-ish pink stripe on the side.

was a pretty nice car back then.

Found a one owner black 87 SI on Craigslist last year with about 120K for $2200 with all maintenance records and original window sticker. I was like 15 days too late. I was depressed for about a month.

My first car was a 1985 CRX Si. 1985 was the second model year for the CRX, but the first year for the Si. It was red with the requisite gray lower cladding similar to what was used on all 84-85 CRX models The main differences between the Si and the lesser 'CRX' (no model designation on the standard model, but many refer to it as a DX or using the 1.5 designation from the '84 model) was the increase in power, unique metal power sunroof, alloy wheels, rear wiper and 'ducktail' rear spoiler.

The Si only added 15hp (91hp) over the regular 1.5, but combined with a lower final drive ratio it cut the 0-60 time from 10.1 to 8.5 seconds. The '85 Si was a blast to drive, but it wasn't much of a looker. The alloy wheels were still only 13" and they were less attractive that the wheel covers on the lesser model. The same goes for the 'ducktail' rear spoiler on the Si which replaced the better looking wing-type spoiler on the cheaper model.

Thankfully, the 1986 'refresh' gave the Si a sleeker look with the flush headlights and the odd but cool 14" 4-hole alloys. Replacing the two-tone exterior with a much cleaner monochrome look also did wonders. I would love to have an '86 Si in White (the only year white was offered, it was replaced by silver for '87).

I got my '85 Si in Feb '90 with 82k miles on it and in excellent condition. Five months later, I hydroplaned going over 90mph on a wet highway and totaled it. I walked away without a scratch, amazingly!

I respect the hell out of this. I feel like too many times you talk to guys who get rid of their jalops for more practical rides for their wife or kids, and they spend the next 10 years regretting it. Not that there's anything wrong with that (you gotta do what you gotta do). It's just kind of sad. I bought an FR-S last year and I never plan on selling it.....ever. I'm currently on the hunt for a sedan or SUV as a 3rd car for this very purpose.

Stuff like this video is awesome to see...
